Squid have the largest eyes in the animal kingdom compared to their size, with some giant squid having eyes as large as a human head. These eyes also have lenses to protect them and a complex visual system that allows them to see as well as many vertebrates.
Squid are the fastest swimming invertebrates, capable of speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
Squid have three hearts, one at the base of each gill to pump deoxygenated blood, and one main heart to pump oxygenated blood through the rest of their body.
