Description
- Iguanas are excellent swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes. They can also jump from trees into water and use their tails to swim to escape.
- Iguanas are also great climbers and can quickly move from branch to branch. Older iguanas often live high in the trees.
- Iguanas communicate nonverbally with each other. They bob their heads slowly as a greeting, but bobbing their heads or tails quickly means they are upset.
- Iguanas have a long lifespan, averaging 12–15 years, but can live up to 20 years or more in captivity.
