Description
Quokkas are friendly, approachable, and peaceful with each other. They are also known for being "the happiest animal in the world". Quokkas are most active at night, when they feed alone or in small groups. During the day, they rest in dense vegetation, creating trails for feeding and escaping predators.
Quokkas are known for hopping and bounding around, and their mothers carry their young in pouches. When stressed, a female quokka may eject her joey from the pouch, which may distract predators while the mother escapes. Quokkas are also known to chew their cud like cows
